With the ocean so close, it is no wonder that Port Richey and the surrounding area have some of the best seafood restaurants available. These restaurants range from fast food, to casual dining, to fine dining establishments. Many overlook the water at marinas or hug the shore with views of the ocean. Several of these restaurants have boat slips so that their customers can arrive by boat after an exciting day spent on the water.
Catches Waterfront Grille combines soaring ceilings and open air dining to bring the outside in. The menu includes some customary fare, as well as creative pasta and salad dishes. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. A popular tiki bar is located right next door, called the Rum River Bar and Grill. This bar has an even more relaxed atmosphere than its neighbor, and hosts live music and several exciting events throughout the year. Both have boat slips and welcome guests straight from the water.
Another popular tiki bar in the area is Jack Willie’s Tiki Bar and Grill, which is located in nearby Oldsmar. Jack Willie’s doubles as a sports pub whenever a hot baseball game is on, and guests can enjoy the 1930’s décor that features authentic baseball memorabilia.
The Café Dufrain, located in Tampa, is another favorite. The menu includes inventive and fresh cuisine, prepared by Chef Christopher Cresanta. The restaurant is accessible by boat and has been voted “Best Outdoor Dining” by the Weekly Planet. The food and the view may suggest a fancy night out, but the atmosphere is distinctly casual and welcoming.
Other popular places to visit in the area include The Columbia Restaurant in St. Petersburg, Inn on the Gulf in Hudson, Brewmasters in Indian Rocks Beach, and Rays on the River in Holiday.
