As if it wasn’t enough that Port Richey is one of the most beautiful towns in America, snuggled up against the Florida coast, it also happens to be a pretty fun town, as well. There are literally hundreds of events and festivals in Port Richey and the surrounding area throughout the year, and at least five huge festivals that take place annually.
Perhaps the most popular festival is the Cotee River Seafood Festival, which takes place the second weekend in May every year. The festival includes a 60’s music concert, activities and games for the kids, a live alligator show with the Swampmaster, fishing and boating demonstrations, an Arts and Crafts Village, a Blues by the River concert, and a kayak race. There is food, music, and fun for all ages.
If you’re in Port Richey on the last Saturday in June, then you should make your way to the KiaFest Main Street Blast. This is an all-day family event that features music from the 60’s, a Beer Garden, kids games and activities, the Miss Firecracker Contest, and fireworks over Orange Lake. This is surely the best way to celebrate Independence Day anywhere in Florida.
The Bright House Networks A Night in the Tropics is a Key West style street party that takes place in August of each year. There is live music, a classic car cruise, food vendors, arts and crafts with a tropical flair, and two tropical beer gardens. The festival takes place on the Main Street of New Port Richey and is a party that shouldn’t be missed.
During the holiday season, you can celebrate with Main Street Holidays, a festival that takes place during the first two weekends of December. Enjoy a Crafts Village, lighting contests, pony rides, children’s activities, and the Riverlights Boat Parade.
